Keeping on top of cleaning regimes in places of worship can be difficult, however many dedicated volunteers are involved. The buildings tend to have their fair share of high and awkward areas, too. Above all they combine precious historic interiors with active community use, so a good protective conservation cleaning regime is really important.
Hog & Fitch can devise realistic conservation cleaning plans, or help out with an annual spring clean that will make it easier to keep on top of things throughout the year. Alternatively, you might need us just to drop in occasionally to deal with the high level cobwebs, extensive areas of carved panelling, particularly fragile items, work at height or any other areas that may not be suited to your volunteer team.
We can also provide training to volunteer teams on preventive conservation and conservation cleaning techniques, and work alongside them to answer questions and give some hands-on tuition.
It’s worth remembering that we can help out at short notice too. If everyone’s on holiday but the choir stalls need cleaning for a festival that’s looming in a few days, just give us a call.
